Visit the Applied Marketing Innovation Wiki to see a collection of inventions across a wide array of product categories as well as information about innovation consultants. The information is from students at The University of Cincinnati taking the graduate course, Applied Marketing Innovation. Here is what you will find:
1. Final Exams: Students applied each of the five templates of Systematic Inventive Thinking to the following product categories to create new-to-the-world inventions:
2. Dream Catalog: Working in groups, students created a hypothetical, innovative, futuristic “dream catalog” for a specific category. The catalog depicts new-to-the-world inventions derived from the five templates of innovation. Here are some of the product categories that have been innovated:
3. Innovation Suppliers: The innovation industry is made up of many different types of consultants, development firms, training firms, academics, researchers, and practitioners. Students created profiles on their assigned supplier. They categorized them by INVENTION, DESIGN, ENGINEERING, or ACTUALIZATION (The I.D.E.A. Model). There are 37 different profiles.
4. Definition of Innovation: How do you define innovation? It depends who you ask. Students found a unique definition of innovation and posted it on the “Definition of Innovation” page.
I plan to continue adding new inventions and information to this wiki from this course and perhaps other courses held by other faculty.

hello drew,
that reminds me on a course i supported as a student-coach at my university.
every term there is a course called "idea engineering" at the university of magdeburg (germany). the final exam for the student-teams is to build their own idea factory. with this idea factory the team should solve an ideation task. it's quite a lot of fun to take a look at the results (idea factory design AND ideas). :)
i took a look at your wikinnovation. i like the results!
regards
jana
Jana, thanks for sharing this. I like this concept. It makes me think about a very good paper in innovation by Roger Smith who says, "Could the invention of the methods of innovation be the greatest invention of the 20th century?" I think so.
Thanks for reading the blog!
It's an interesting quote. Our former president Roman Herzog (Germany) said in a famous speech (I translated the quote in english for you), "The ability of innovation will determine our destiny."
Have a sunny day!
